Lake Victoria Mining reports on Geita gold project drilling campaign

Lake Victoria Mining has published an update on its current drilling programme at the Geita gold project in northern Tanzania.

Located 80km west of Mwanza, exploration reverse circulation drilling began on the 43.77 sq km prospect on January 29th 2009 and three major target locations have been tested to date, with at least five identified on the property.

A total of 2,128m has been drilled by the company and 19 holes are now complete on the site out of a planned total of 6,000m of drilling.

Assay results for 750 samples have been received and the total exploration programme is expected to collect around 2,000 samples from areas known to feature major intrusives and large shear zone structures.

Lake Victoria Mining plans to start testing the fourth target next week, with the current drilling campaign focused on the north-east and north-central areas of the Geita licence.

Focused on creating another gold mine in the Lake Victoria greenstone belt of Tanzania, Lake Victoria Mining holds ownerships and option interests in the Geita, Kalemela, Igusule and Bahi-Hombolo projects in conjunction with Geo Can Resources.
